Ferrer was born with the clear will to offer society solutions to meet their needs. But not only in the field of health, our philanthropic vocation has led us to also promote patronage in different areas and promote numerous projects of different nature.

FERRER-SALAT MUSIC FOUNDATION

As a firm believer in the infinite power of music as a key element to create a more equitable, cohesive society, the Ferrer-Salat Music Foundation was born in 1982 to coincide with the creation of the Queen Sofía Musical Composition Award.

PROGRAMME FOR PRIMARY MUSIC EDUCATION FOR SOCIAL INTEGRATION

Being firmly convinced that music, and more specifically musical education, acts as an essential tool for social integration and cohesion, the Programme for Primary Music Education for Social Integration started being implemented in schools in Barcelona situated in underprivileged surroundings with a high risk of social exclusion. In total, 266 student started the programme in the 2017-18 term, 20 of whom were awarded a scholarship to start basic training in saxophone, clarinet trumpet, trombone and euphonium during the 2018-19 term.

QUEEN SOFÍA MUSICAL COMPOSITION AWARD

Its objective is that of stimulating musical creation for the different kinds of symphonic orchestras and to give composers a chance to have their music played, listened to and promoted. The Ferrer-Salat Music Foundation allocates the €35,000 Queen Sofía Musical Composition award on an annual basis.

FERRER-SALAT SCHOLARSHIPS

To show our commitment towards musical training as a key element for a comprehensive education, the foundation offers 12 scholarships to carry out further education studies in Performance or Composition at the Conservatori Liceu Foundation’s Centro Superior. A total of 42 students were able to enjoy these scholarships in the 2018-2019 term.
