Ferrer participates in B Lab Spain's B Good Day
Ferrer has been one of the companies invited to the 6th edition of B Good Day, the annual meeting of the B Corp movement in Spain and one of the reference events of the impact economy in the country.
It is a unique meeting that unites the B Corp community with companies and representatives from academia, government, voluntary sector and citizens, in which the major issues to lay the foundations for a more inclusive and sustainable economy are addressed.
Mario Rovirosa, CEO of Ferrer, has participated in the second plenary session of the day, entitled "From purpose to action", a space for debate about how to be a "B" company and how to centre the purpose of a company in its activity.
During the event, held at the Green Patio in Madrid with more than two hundred people in attendance, Mario stressed that "although Ferrer is known internationally for being a pharmaceutical company, in reality, our business is only a means to generate resources that allow us to reinvest in social and environmental projects. We have set ourselves a much lower profit margin than is usual in our sector. To give you an idea, last year we allocated more than 50% of our profit to initiatives with a clear positive impact in society and on the planet".
The session, moderated by Sandra Pina, general director of Quiero & Sustainable Brands, also featured Willy Díaz, CEO and commercial director of Artiem Hotels, and Carlota Pi, Co-founder and CEO of Holaluz.
In line with Ferrer's purpose of making a positive impact in society, the organization became part of the B Corp community at the beginning of 2022. Among the wide variety of social and environmental projects in which it collaborates, it is also a partner strategy of Barcelona + B, a public-private initiative whose purpose is to project Barcelona as a benchmark city in the construction of a global movement to promote business transformation to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals.
