At Ferrer we have consolidated our commitment to flexible working through our own model without restrictions between face-to-face and teleworking, for those professionals who, due to their functions, can work remotely. Under the name of Great Work!, we are committed to an Activity Based Working system , based on a culture of trust and responsibility to allow different ways of working depending on the activity of each person.
"In line with our purpose of generating a positive impact on society, we want the people of Ferrer to be able to choose where, how and when they want to work. And this goes far beyond the time and place. We are promoting a culture committed to talent and its development, to the integral well-being of people and to a respectful, ethical and inclusive work environment," explains Beatriz Vila, Chief People & Sustainability Officer at Ferrer.
Initiated in January 2022, the new model rules out setting a minimum of face-to-face attendance and encourages autonomy and personal empowerment to decide what the best formula is at all times. To accompany the change, a comprehensive remodelling of the Barcelona offices has been carried out, which now combine individual workspaces with spaces for teamwork, ideation, collaboration or socialisation. They have been designed for people, thinking about their comfort and well-being, and taking into account criteria of organisational efficiency, aimed at achieving better synergies and results, and environmental sustainability criteria, in accordance with the criteria of LEED and WELL certifications .
A holistic wellbeing programme has also been launched that includes a continuous learning programme, a support programme for people, the promotion of healthy lifestyle habits and sustainable mobility, yoga and pilates classes and a physiotherapy service, among other activities.
"Considering the volatility of the current context and the need for a multiple approach to the challenges that we face as a company, we also promote the use of agile methodologies and transversal work teams. And what we are perceiving is a high commitment and motivation from people who see how their well-being, work-life balance and performance have increased," adds Vila.
Within the Great Work! model , we stress that it is important not to forget socialization and the bond between teams and, for this reason, we have launched an internal guide with recommendations and frameworks for action.
